Pucker up because it is NATIONAL LIPSTICK DAY.

Red lipstick is one of the most popular colors of lipstick throughout time, think Bette Davis, Marilyn Monroe. 

Heck, even Madonna. 

The color will never go out of style and you don't have to spend much to get velvety rouge lips. 

I recently set out to Ulta in search for the perfect drugstore red, this is what I found.*

1. Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in Standout (250)- This one is by far my favorite. I don't know if it is because of the easy application aided by the fact that it is a crayon or the silky creamy formula. Either way the color is perfect and it doesn't hurt that it stays on practically all day long.

2. Rimmel London's Lasting Finish by Kate Moss in 01- Now the color of this one is fantastic. But beware IT SMELLS LIKE CHERRIES. You can either find this a tad off-putting or love it. I am the former, however, I am able to look past its va va voom red color.

3. Maybelline Color Sensational Lipcolor in Red Revival (645)- This one was my least favorite. I could tell the second I put it on that it was going to bleed all over my face and wear right off. I was correct, as always.

If Madonna can look this fly in a red lip, so can you.
